The Studio
My cottage has a bonus room that doubles as an art studio and library (I have a Master's degree in English, hence the library). The room has a large double window on the west side and French doors on the south, giving it access to an inordinate amount of natural light. A local art club gave me a drawing desk, standing easel, and table top easel, but I do most of my work at my work table and end up using the easels and drawing table mostly for displaying various pieces of art.

Art Supplies
I began by using oil pastels to paint on the wooden fence inside my enchanted garden. An example is this piece (left), called "Eden." After experimenting with oil pastels, I added colored pencils and acrylic paints.
I use Papermate mechanical pencils for all of my drawing and writing. I like Pentel Clic erasers for both erasing pencils marks and smudging oil pastels (yes, they work wonderfully on wood!) I use Prismacolor Premium colored pencils on my art, but I am not really partial to any particular brand of acrylic paint. I use wood, canvas, and various mixed media paper for my artwork.
