In addition to artistic endeavors, I am also a writer and editor.  I have a Master's degree in English with an emphasis in British Victorian and Romantic Literature (hence, the library in my home).  I have always loved to read, study, and research.  I especially love to study scripture.  While in graduate school, I was the Editor-in Chief for the Astate English journal, Tributary.  While I was editor, the journal won numerous awards from the Arkansas College Media Association including Journal of the Year and Editor of the Year.  

I worked at my alma mater for 12.5 years before retiring in 2020.  I began to experiment as an artist with oil pastels on the fence and garage in my backyard (see pictures in the "Cottage" section).  I added colored pencils, acrylic paints and pens to my supplies and began making art in sketchbooks, then on wood pieces given to me by a neighbor, then on canvas.

I love beautiful things...clothes, furniture, architecture, jewelry, fashion, music, literature...I also love "fun" things.  I have a collection of funky sunglasses; a collection of gloves; a collection of fur coats, capes, and jackets; lots of costume jewelry, purses, a million tubes of lipstick, bright colored rugs, etc.  I also love flamingos, peacocks, and swans - you can see evidence of this in my home.
